World Cup Event RACEDOG CUP 2016

The aim and objectives:
To popularize Sleddog sport as an open and an active health-enhancing sport.
To encourage other Sleddog sportists from different countries than Latvia, contributing to the development of tourism.
To promote interesting and healthy leisure activities for kids, teens, adults and families.

Race time and place:
9./10. April, 13:00 pm,
Upesciems, Garkalne municipality

Race disciplines:
DR6 – Six dog carts
DR4 - Four dog carts;
SC2 - Two dog scooter
SC1 – One dog scooter
BJW - Bikejorings ladies
BJM - Bikejorings gentlemen
CCW - Canicross ladies
CCM - Canicross gentlemen
CCK - Canicross childrens from 3-6 years
CCY - Canicross youngers from 7-12 years

Dog age:
SC2, SC1, BJM, BJW - dog age 18 months
DR6, DR4, CCW, CCM, CCK, CCY – dog age 12 months.

Each category is opened if at least 5 mushers have entered. (3 for DR4 and DR6). The top three participants of each class are awarded.

The participants of Nordic and Open class will be awarded separately if there will be at least 5 participants in each class (at least 5 participants in Nordic class and at least 5 participants in Open class). All participants of Nordic and Open classes will be counted in Open class if there will be less than 5 participants in one of the classes.

In Nordic class can participate dogs with following breeds: Samoyeds, Greenland dogs, Malamute and Sibirian hasky. The participant must obligatory submit FCI pedigree original document.
In Open class you can participate with any other dog breed (including mixed breed dogs), except the ones that are listed in Nordic class. All internationally acknowledged dog breed participants must obligatory submit FCI pedigree original document. If you don't have pedigree document, in entry form write that the dog breed is "mixed breed".

Organizers also award separately "Veterans" and "Juniors", if there are at least 5 in the same discpline. Otherwise they are included in "Elite".

For discplines „DR4 and DR6” 3 handlers can be helping a participant - in the start/finish area, if the participant has written handler names in his/her registration entry form. If no handlers are written in the registration entry form, noone can't help the participant.

For disciplines „BJM, BJW, SC1, SC2” 2 hendlers can be helping a participant - in the start/finish area, if the participant has written handler names in his/her registration entry form.
If no handlers are written in the registration entry form, noone can't help the participant.

Participants of the CCM and CCW disciplines are not allowed to have handlers helping them.

Discipline Distances:
A basic lap - 5 km,
Children and youngers lap - 0.7 km

Sportist registration:

01.02. – 28.02. 30 EUR (if 2nd discipline 20 EUR), CCK, CCY – 5 EUR
01.03. – 03.04. 40 EUR (if 2nd discipline 30 EUR), CCK, CCY – 7 EUR

A participant can participate in more than one discipline  (but not more than two (2) disciplines), but a dog can only participate in one (1) discipline (excluding children's and younger’s race, canicross as a 2nd discipline)
Equipment can be shared between only two (2) persons.

The registration fee depends on the date, when a filled registration form has been received by the organisers. The registration fee has to be paid by bank transfer in 24 hour period.

The registration is completed when organisers have received a registration fee by bank transfer*.

There is no chance to paid on race day and race place. Sorry!
Organisers can keep 100% of a registration fee if a participant does not take part in the competition.

*In payment order write sportist name, surname and short name of discipline, and race name. (When writing in the discipline name, make sure that you are using a valid discipline name. Correct discipline names are listed at the beginning of the race regulation).
Example: ”Agnese Saldeva, CCW, RaceDog Cup”**.
**Otherwise payment will be invalid.

You can change discipline, name, surname untill 6 days before race (untill April 4). Re-registration fee – 5 eur (bank transfer). Changes send to:

Participants are awarded with:
Diplomas and sponsor prizes.

Participation in competition:
One participant can participate in only two (2) competition disciplines.
Equipment can be shared only between two (2) participants. (Three participants can not use the same equipment).

1st day:
10:15 – 11:45 – Registration, equipment control, vetcontol

12:00 – 12:10 – „Team Leader” meeting, managed by G. E. Kleinberga, O. Klūdziņš
12:15 – Race Opening, competitors meeting – at registration area

Doping Control:
Riders and dogs can be tested in doping control. Doping control can be carried out from March 27 till April 20 without sportist notice any time, day or night.

Attention all participants - the track will be closed from April 8 – 3pm until April 9 - 10am in the morning. During this period, the track is closed for bikes, scooters and carts, Sportist can go only on foot (walking) !!!
In this period the track will be getting prepared for the race by organisers and on the track will be a lot of local residents.
April 9 from 10:00 till 12:00 it is allowed to ride with bicycles, scooters, carts, go on foot (walking), and walk with dog (Dog can not pull You, he need walk adjacent sportist). Athletes who do not abide by the rules will be disqualified.

Stake- out area:
Participants are not allowed to sell any sports equipment, sports products, dogs food and products, if not received written permission from the organisers. Participants may leave vehicles, trailers, dog cages and dog stake-out only at the places that the competition judiciary assigns. At the stake-out area You are not allowed to reserve any additional vehicle parking spots/places or mark a teritory (using ropes, fences or any other means) that is to be used by your friends arriving later.

In RACEDOG race area smoking is not allowed.

Start list / Results list:
The organisers of the race will publish non-official start list on the Internet:
However, the OFFICIAL start list will be available ONLY on race day, April 9, starting from. 10:30, at the info board.
Race start list order can not be changed by sportists.
The first day results and starting list for day 2 - will be available only from April 10 at 10:00 morning at the info board.

Each participant must arrive at the start corridor at least a minute before their start. Accurately minute (60 seconds) prior to their start, if a participant has not arrived at the start corridor, judges deem it to be an overdue start. After the finish the Athlete must stay in the finish corridor for at least 30 seconds, or until the finish judges let You go out. At the finish corridor obligatory sportist / handler should offer the dog some water. At the finish area - nobody can't call the dog by name, use whistle, make the dog fetch a ball or other toys to stimulate better finish time.

By registering for the race participants confirm that they agree to- before, after and during the race – be on photograph, video and audio materials for use in marketing and promotional activities.

If a participant has caught another participant abusing the rules during the race, he has to speak to the race marshall instantly after the finish and in 60 minutes time write protest with his signature, and has to pay 30€ safety money to the race marshall.
If the race marshall accepts it as a valid protest the paid safety money will be returned.
After race results are published on info board you have 15 minute period to submit a protest (signed with your signature) to the race marshall. Race judges, race marshall and organisers has to right decide questions that are not included in race regulation.

Race numbers:
Each participant will have one number for both two race days.
DR4, DR6, SC1, SC2, BJM, BJW – bike numbers must be fixed to the bicycle handlebar, so that it is visible from the front.
CCM, CCW, CCK, CCJ – will have race jackets. The race numbers must not be damaged, cut, they may not be transferred to another person.
If sportist loses number or damages it because of improper handling of it - organisers and the Race Marshall decide whether to punish the sportist :).
After the second day's race every sportist needs to return the race number to the judge at the finish coridor.

Technical requirements:
In races You can’t participate with:
1) bike without brakes (front and back).
2) Scooters without brakes.
3) Carts without brakes
4) Bicycle shoes or running shoes with iron or plastic spikes for better grip. (This is for dog safety!)
5) Line - BJM, BJW, SC2 – obligatory needs to be from 2.5m till 3m long. Line - CCM, CCW, CCK, CCJ – obligatory needs to be from 2m till 2.5m long.
6) Cards, bicycles and scooters – powered by electrical or simillar devices are not allowed.

Competitors are responsible for the condition of their own (and dogs) health and safety, and carry the responsibility to follow race rules and regulations of the event, by signing the application form.
Persons who are younger than 18 years of age application is to be signed by at least one of their parents or a guardian.

1. everyone will participate in the race at their own responsibility,
2. helmet is obligatory,
3. seeing someone in need of help, be sure to help and tell the organiser,
4. in case of abandoning the race you can tell it to nearest judges on track.

NB! KEEP THE NATURE CLEAN! Please don't throw trash (used packages, bottles) into the nature.
You can put them into the trash-can near stake-out.

Organisers provide information about the competition only in Latvian and English language. Regulation in English language is a rough translation. If unsure refer to the Latvian language version!

Hotel Reservations:
The organisers are not making any registrations in hotels or campsites for athlets. The website indicates the hotel and camping list, which are near the race area. Athletes themselves choose and communicate with the hotel / campsite.

Musherparty for athletes will be without extra fee, but for hendlers - 8 EUR. Musherparty tickets can get at "Musherparty" entrance.
